For season-critical deliveries, add a 30% buffer to the factory's quoted lead time as your internal planning number. If the factory quotes 45 days, plan for 60. If delivery arrives in 50 days, you have margin. If production slips — as it frequently does — you are still within your window.
For high-volume repeat orders, work with factories that can provide weekly production status updates with unit counts. A factory that tracks and reports production progress weekly gives you the visibility to intervene early when delays develop.
